We re delighted to be hosting the following series of FREE events with the support of the Cork Sports Partnership

All in-person events will be hosted at The Bike Circus, our community bike workshop, next to Spillers Lane, Clonakilty. All cycles will start there as well.

REGISTRATION FOR IN-PERSON EVENTS – Unless otherwise noted, all in-person events must be registered for in advance. All events are FREE, to register email [email protected] with the date of your chosen event in the subject line. Due to covid spaces are very limited; most workshops 6 people max, cycles 15 max.

Sun Sept 20th – from 5pmCycle-Bus Forum (pre-recorded) Grab a pre-dinner refreshment and tune in for a panel discussion on the joys of the ‘Cycle-Bus’, hear from Irish bike-bus pioneers from Galway & Limerick and find out how they started, what’s involved, as well as our own plans to start our own bike-bus in Clonakilty. Fri Sept 25th – 12-1pmA lunchbreak workshop with Jamin: How to spray your bike – DEMO – Meet Jamin our newest volunteer mechanic at the Circus! Returning from a stint as a bike courrier in Holland, he comes to us with a wealth of bike-reclaimation experience and will be demo-ing how to prep and spray your bike to make it look as good as new (or as funky as you like!). Fri Sept 25th – 1-3pmOfficial Launch of our Apprenticeship program. Swing by the Bike Circus for nibbles to celebrate the official launch of our apprenticeship program. With 8 workshop modules and 100 hours apprentice experience, our apprentice program offers the most ‘hands-on’ opportunity in Ireland. We are currently offering a limited number of free placements. Sat Sept 26th – from 5pmWheel Women Forum (pre-recorded) A group of eleven female bicycle activists from around the globe and here in Ireland share why (and how) they cycle, triumphs and trials in their advocacy work, and their love of bikes! Sat Sept 26th – 11:30 pm – 2:30 pm11:30 – 2:30 – a workshop with Jill Barrett – Make your own bike skirt guard or bike seat cover! All participants will leave with their own skirt guard or bike seat cover they make during the workshop.
In-Person Event Only, max 10 participants
Sat Sept 26th – 3-8pmLong Strand cycle 25km return trip, meet at the Bike Circus 3-7pm. Option of food at the Fish Basket/bring a picnic. 15 people max. Registration Essential. **this event was updated – location changed**
